The challenge

The challenge of this project was to design a website that met the needs of both the students and the university administration. The website had to be visually appealing and engaging for the students, while also meeting the university's branding guidelines and standards. Additionally, the website needed to be scalable and adaptable to accommodate future changes and updates.

To ensure that the redesigned college website effectively met the needs of students, we conducted user research to gain insights into their preferences and pain points when it comes to managing their school activities and accessing university information. We first identified potential users of the website, such as current students and recent alumni, and conducted both qualitative and quantitative research, including online surveys and interviews. Through our research, we discovered that students desired a more intuitive and user-friendly website that was accessible on multiple devices and provided easy access to university news, event calendars, and academic resources. They also expressed frustration with outdated and cluttered interfaces that made it difficult to find information quickly. By incorporating these user insights into our design process, we were able to create a website that met the needs and expectations of our target audience, resulting in a successful and engaging user experience.

the process

As a UX/UI designer for the college website redesign, our goal was to create a human-centered design that addressed the needs of students in managing their school activities and accessing university information. To achieve this, we conducted user research and competitive analysis to guide our design decisions. We developed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and conducted usability testing to ensure a seamless user experience. Our design approach focused on creating a visually appealing and engaging website that aligned with the university's brand, while incorporating features such as a calendar, news section, and dashboard for managing school activities. The end result was a successful redesign that met the needs of our target audience and improved the overall user experience for students.

Conclusion

Through our human-centered design approach, we were able to create a college website that met the needs of both the students and the university administration. The website provides students with easy and efficient access to university information, news, and events, while also allowing them to manage their school activities and assignments in one place. The website is scalable and adaptable, providing a solid foundation for future updates and improvements. Overall, our design approach allowed us to bridge the gap between the needs of the students and the business goals of the university, resulting in a successful and effective website.
